The group was formed in 2004 with Mick Manning (lead vocals, harmonica), Peter Thorn (rhythm guitar), Tom Barber (lead guitar), Val Alyea (bass), Robert Orrett (drums), and Ian Davis (Saxophone). In their early beginnings their music was partially influenced by Robert Johnston, Muddy Waters, as well as Johnny Cash, however the band was still able to create a rough individual sound typified by their solid blues-rock raw delivery.
The Band Today
The current Bad Poetry Blues line-up still has Mick Manning on lead vocals and harmonica, Peter Thorn on guitar, Glenn Girard on Bass Guitar, and has added Les Kota on drums. There is a video of the band performing "Everyday I Have the Blues" on YouTube. The band still performs their rocking blues shows in Central Ontario, and the Toronto area on a regular basis.
